What is a Sparkline?

Sparklines are small, high-resolution graphics that are embedded into a single Excel cell and can contain large amounts of data useful for identifying trends, comparing data and highlighting exceptions.

Whereas the typical chart is designed to show as much data as possible, and is set off from the flow of text, Sparklines are intended to be succinct, memorable, and located in the same area where they are discussed, which is why they are referred to as “In-Cell” charts
