Skylights Notes

The following are some known caveats in using CALUMO Skylights:

Frames

If a CALUMO report includes frames via the CREPORTFRAME formula, it is not possible for a Skylight to guarantee that all content in the frames will be loaded by the time the report image snapshot is taken.

Freeze Panes

If a CALUMO report includes freeze panes or uses the CREPORTFREEZEPANE formula in a Skylight, then the freeze pane will be removed and the report will be rendered without it.

Non-CALUMO Web Pages

Skylights are mainly designed and optimized for use with CALUMO reports. Although ordinary URLs can be used, some content, such as content that moves dynamically or has custom sizing, may cause issues when a Skylight tries to capture it.

Display Scaling and High DPI

The Windows Scale and Layout setting must be the same for all who edit and refresh a Skylight.

The size and position of the Skylight Designer framing tool is not yet compatible with users having different scaling settings.

This means that the person refreshing a Skylight must have the same Windows Display Scale and Layout settings as the person who created or edited it. Otherwise the Skylight will be framed and/or sized differently.

Allow Interaction with App Slicer

To allow an App Slicer to override the Skylight slicer:

  1. Right click the Skylight -> Edit Alt Text

  2. Delete the part of the query string that specifies the value of the slicer.

In this example, [Date].[Fiscal%20Periods].[Period].%26[201803]& has been removed from the Alt Text so that the App Slicer for Fiscal Periods will override the Fiscal Period in the Skylight.

  3. Depending on how you have set up your Skylights, you may also need to set the report slicer CMEMBER to be Cached. This enables the Skylights to use the slicer value that the user last selected, which is often done at the beginning of the Skylights report. This is particularly important when trying to refresh many Skylights with a new slicer value, e.g. creating a report for the new month or year.
